A game made inside three hours for TriJam #177. Theme was 'find the target'.

Note note: The latest version which loads on the browser is 'Mobile friendly', because a few friends of mine who wanted to test this also wanted to be able to play on mobile. This is an update which has been applied *after* the submission period ended, but the only changes occur if you click 'Mobile' on the opening screen while in browser. Everything else remains the same.

I also have managed to make a game which I can't stop playing and wanted a mobile version I can play on the train on the way to uni lmao

Note: I originally finished the game within the 3 hour window at 2hrs 44mins, but after uploading it and a few other people having a go it became apparent that it was too common for someone to win with their first shot due to RNG. So I used my last fifteen minutes to tweak a few variables and the size of some prefabs and now it is less likely (but still possible!) to win with literally your first shot.

The 'v1.1' files uploaded here are the tweaked builds.

Controls: A/D or left arrow/right arrow to rotate

Spacebar: Fire the cannon!

Simple enough premise: You control a cannon and your target is somewhere hidden in the darkness around you, surrounded by obstacles. When you fire you will see the trajectory of your cannonball and where it bounces off things, with each bounce leaving behind a colour coded indicator. Green is close, yellow not as close, orange further and red farthest.

Music is 'When Johnny Comes Marching Home' by Cooper Cannell from YouTube Audio Library.

The cannon firing sound effect is also from YouTube audio library, credited as 'Gunshot and echo long'

All other SFX (two of them!) are 'foley' work by me. Namely, putting a battery into my electric drill and hitting the bottom of my wok with a wooden spoon :)

Thank you so much for a playing my game!

nice game! :D

( I found out when you are on mobile mode you can fire the cannon directly one after the other so its multiple cannonballs on the screen at the same time )

Nice game, original concept, but I won the first try in 2 shots. It would be better with more obstacles so the player learn how it is and aim precisely to reach the target. I don't think reducing the number of bounce is a good Idea because it would be more frustrating.  And also generate procedurally the obstacles but I know it is time consuming XD. Anyway, good work!

Thank you! The obstacles do actually spawn in procedurally with random rotations, but i do think I might be better increasing their number, and decreasing their size slightly while also decreasing the size of the cannonball & target.

I somehow got very unlucky while performing quick testing, and would usually take a few shots to find a way through.  After uploading, almost everyone who has played it got the target on their first or second shot lmao!

Is nice 👍

Awesome little game, very simple but still engaging. The audio in particular is super engaging, theres something about those little pinball-style dings that is really satisfying.

The balance of the game possibly makes it a bit too easy, reducing the size of the target or the number of times the cannon can ricochet might make it a bit more difficult.
